Christian Education for everyone

Because Christianity was never intended to be a spectator sport, group Bible study is not just valuable, it is invaluable. Small group study is so effective that Jesus used it to train the men who would be known as the apostles (Luke 6:12-16). As we encounter God’s Word together, we have an opportunity to share our different perspectives and insights and are spiritually fortified because of the interaction. More information is retained when there is active involvement, so biblical literacy is enhanced. Application and accountability bring understanding that moves God’s Word from the intellect to the heart. Transformation is encouraged (Romans 12:2), and our lives are changed. When our lives are changed, the lives of those around us are changed as well.

Group Bible study is a place to celebrate life’s victories, get prayer support, be encouraged in tough times, and keep ourselves accountable in our personal growth. Group Bible studies offer a structured time to focus on topics that address our needs or interests. They offer an enlivening arena to help carry us from Sunday to Sunday and a safe place to work out the challenges we face.

Sunday School

Zion has Sunday School (ages 3-12) to assist our families in the education and training of their children in the Christian life through the study of God’s Word (i.e. Bible stories), crafts, and song. This opportunity is available every Sunday morning beginning at 9:45 a.m. The children first gather together in the church for a brief opening and celebration of events in the children’s lives. Then they go off to class. At the present time, we have one all-together multi-aged classroom.

Kids' Church

Kids’ Church meets during the 11:00 a.m. Contemporary Service. The kids are in the service with their families until the Children’s Message, then after the Children’s Message, the kids go off with the leader to the Garden Room for an opportunity to worship God with their peers. During this time, kids grow in their relationship with Jesus. Prayer, praise and worship all tie into the weekly Bible passages. Creative lessons, crafts, and activities keep kids engaged, and music reinforces the Scripture.
