FINANCE/OFFICE MANAGER
POSITION DESCRIPTION
IN GENERAL:
Small East Bay church seeks skilled finance/office manager.
The finance/office manager (“FOM”) is responsible for undertaking the clerical, administrative, and communication aspects of the church office as well as the financial bookkeeping for the church.

The FOM is responsible for all aspects of running the front office, including general reception duties, record-keeping, and correspondence, as well as supporting ministry staff as needed. The FOM is also the liaison between the church and all rental groups including the church’s school tenant. Such duties include, but are not limited to, timely invoicing and follow-up on all payments due from rental groups and the church’s school tenant.

The FOM oversees and inputs financial information into the church’s account books. This includes, but is not limited to, tracking donations and expenses, regular financial accounting, payroll, reimbursement requests, tax filings, budget preparations, and assisting with regular reviews/audits by outside accounting firms. Rigorous regular financial reporting is required.

The FOM is the communication hub for the church including its members, volunteers, workers, contractors, and tenants. Duties include managing communication of information across multiple platforms, such as hard copy letters, social media, email, and virtual and in-person meetings. Some content creation for social media and other marketing may be required, as needed.
SPECIFIC SKILLS NEEDED:
Proficiency in Quickbooks, MS Word, Excel (Basic), and Google Docs required.
Previous financial bookkeeping employment required. Previous experience with payroll is a plus.
Ability to work as part of a small number of staff is necessary. Experience dealing with both professional employees and volunteers is a plus. Excellent communication skills are critical. Must understand (or be willing to learn) and be comfortable with a Christian work setting. Ability to take initiative as well as to learn on the job is important. Sensitivity and confidentiality are crucial.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This position is a non-exempt salaried position, 30 hours per week. Schedule to be determined; some flexibility regarding regular hours and days exists. Expectation is that job must be performed in-office. Occasional projects may be remote, but only with permission in advance from the Pastor.
This position will work in conjunction with the staff team and will be accountable to the Pastor.

There will be a probationary period of three months with a review and evaluation at the end of the first and third months.
Salary range $65000-$75,000 based on experience and negotiated benefits package.
